Stream info & controls.
Edit your title, category and tags without leaving OBS, and run markers, clips, ads, polls, giveaways and alert transport from the strips.
Stream info
Edit your title (up to 140 characters), category, tags (up to 10, 25 characters each), language, content classification labels and the branded content toggle. Changes are staged: the bar tells you how many are unsaved until you save them together.
Stream delay is shown but cannot be edited. Twitch only lets a Partner set one, up to 900 seconds, and it takes effect from your next broadcast rather than mid-stream. A mature-game label applied by Twitch is shown locked for the same reason.
When something changed elsewhere
If you change your title in the Twitch dashboard while you have unsaved edits in the dock, the dock does not quietly overwrite either version. It tells you what changed and offers Use theirs or Keep mine. If you had no unsaved edits, the new value simply appears.
Generate a title
Generate writes a title suggestion from the titles of your own past broadcasts and your current category, so it picks up how you normally write. A channel that does not publish VODs has no past titles to learn from, and generates from the current title and category alone. Press it again for another, or undo to put back what you had. It is a suggestion in the box, not something published on your behalf.
Generation is capped at ten per hour per channel, on top of a monthly allowance. When you hit the hourly cap the button disables itself and tells you roughly when it comes back.
It can decline, and it says which: the channel has used its AI quota for the month, AI suggestions are turned off, or platform-wide AI usage has hit its spending cap.
Quick actions
A strip of one-press controls. Choose which appear, and reorder them, from the strip's own settings. Anything your dock URL is not permitted to do is removed rather than shown greyed out.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Marker | Drops a stream marker to find later in the VOD timeline. |
| Clip | Creates a clip of the last few moments. If you are not live, Twitch refuses and the dock says so. |
| Poll | Opens the poll sheet, and counts down while a poll is running. |
| Clear | Clears the whole chat for everyone. Confirmed first, and cannot be undone. |
| Run ad | Runs an ad break at the length configured for your channel. Shows the time until your next scheduled ad, and says when one is already running. |
| Snooze | Pushes back the next scheduled ad, showing how many snoozes you have used. |
| Shield | Toggles Shield Mode. |
| Giveaway | Start the giveaway, draw a winner, re-roll the winner, or finish and clear. |
Twitch does not allow it once started. The dock confirms before running one for exactly this reason.
Alert transport
A second strip controls what your overlay is playing: Pause and resume, Skip the alert playing now, mute text to speech, and Test, which fires an alert only your overlay sees.
The dock does not show how many alerts are waiting, because the alert system does not expose a count it could report honestly. A number here would be invented.
Polls
Create a poll with a question of up to 60 characters and between two and five choices of up to 25 characters each. Durations run from 15 seconds to 30 minutes, with presets. You can let viewers buy extra votes with channel points, and set the cost. Bits voting is not offered, because Twitch removed it.
While a poll runs, the row shows live vote counts and the time left. When it ends, the result stays up briefly and then settles into a summary of the last poll, so you can still read the outcome after the moment has passed. A poll Twitch removes shows as such, with no breakdown, since Twitch withholds the votes.
Hype trains
When a hype train starts, it takes over the dock header with its type, level, progress and time remaining. Open it for the level, the points, the progress to the next level, and the conductor and top contributors.
Beating your channel's record is called out as an all-time high. Otherwise it shows your previous best, so you know what you are chasing.
The train offers Rally chat and Marker while it runs, and Thank chat and Clip the finish once it ends. Dismissing it hides it until the next level, so it comes back when there is genuinely something new.
